October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a subject which many of us find difficult to open up about. Infant loss affects so many families globally, this month is an opportunity to share stories, support one another and raise awareness of key issues that affect people who have lost a baby.
At TLKC we are always moved when customers reach out to share their stories and let us know what their personalised Keepsake mean to them. It’s an absolute honour to create pieces which may positively impact the hardship and pain a family is going through, even if it’s in the tiniest of ways.
We have recently been working with the lovely Malaina Pears, a blogger based in Canada who found our collection while searching for a special piece of jewellery in memory of her son Emerson.
We have worked closely with Malaina to create two special pieces which commemorate her beautiful baby boy and were so touched by her family’s story and Malaina’s bravery and strength in sharing such a difficult experience.
Malaina is a huge inspiration to us and to so many other women who have lost babies, if you would like to read Malaina’s touching tribute to her son you can find it on her blog here.Read malaina's story here
When working with Malaina to create her Keepsake pieces, we were thrilled that there were so many gorgeous jewellery styles she loved. Amongst her favourites were our Rose Gold Heart Lockets, Long Bar Necklace and our ‘Every Time I Look At The Stars’ necklace.
Malaina and her husband Taylor have a beautiful baby scan image from Emerson’s ultrasound which we used to create the Framed Baby Scan Print in our Blue Watercolor Heart Design shown above.
Our studio team used an image of Emerson’s foot prints to personalise our Rose Gold Engraved Heart Locket for Malaina to wear and carry precious photos and memories close to her heart.
